Falling

Life with Tyler was great. When we weren't both working we spent our time together, he would make me the latest drink he had been working on and we'd hang out in our backyard or go out to dinner.

Being with him was a lot different then Jake, things were simple and cute and I always felt good around Tyler. And he never once rejected a kiss.

And so when clientele would hit on me I was a little disgusted.

Espicially when his wife was right next to us.

But work went on and I was even doing a lot of stake outs.

Yeah, they definitely couldn't see me!

Things with Tyler though simple, seemed to heat up a lot faster then they had with Jake.

But I didn't mind at all.

You might say I was unexpectanly falling in love with him. I didn't expect to, I thought it was a long shot that he was just another frog I had to kiss. But here I was, tongue tied to see him, flutters in my stomach and just a touch of his hand on my arm made my skin light on fire.

I don't know what I would do if I lost him.

New Beginnings

Now you may be wondering, what is this cute blue house and why are we looking at it?

Well it's where I live. Let's just say after the break up I got a little tired of seeing Jake walk in and out of his house and his stupid little face so I called up my parents and they came down and helped me move out.

There was a listing in the newspaper for a roomate for a two bedroom house with a backyard and garage and it was wonderfully far from Jake Lane and anything associated with him.

The one thing about living here was I now did not live alone. Not that it was entirely bad, didn't have to pay as much rent and I didn't have a crazy fear everytime I heard something go bump in the night because ten to one it was Tyler Demarco, the mixologist that was new to town.

A little rough around the edges but he kept to himself most of the time and never hogged the bathroom for too long.

Though I moved away it didn't mean that I never saw Jake, though we heavily avoided each other while at work.

It was late one night when I was wrapping up a case where I spotted Tyler in front of the movie theatre reading a book. I didn't have anything else to do so I waved him over.

"What is a pretty girl like you doing out so late at night?"
"Oh...you know. Burning buildings, causing havoc. But I could ask the same about you,"
"Well my pretty self was trying to catch the midnight viewing of The Catcher and the Rye but missed it due to lousy directions from a police officer. So I thought I'd sit out here and read it instead."
"I didn't think of you as the book type,"
"Oh, you know. Just like a good read every now and then," He grinned and it seemed to glamor me.

But then he proceeded to eat dirt to freak me out and the glamor wore off and I just thought he was weird.

The case I was working on now was for Jake, (of course.) Annoying but money is money and thankfully it was an easy solver.

I heard the door open as I was half asleep in my room. A glance to the clock beside me 3 AM glowed in red. He sure is getting in late.

I pushed back the covers unconcerned apparently with the fact that I was only wearing my undergarments.
"Did I wake you Alyssa?"
"Kinda, just getting in?" I yawned.
"Yeah, sorry. You sure don't wear much to bed."
My arms hurried to attempt to cover my flesh. "I wasn't thinking,"

"Don't be embarrassed. It's not like I've never looked at a female body." My arms dropped a little. "You look hot anyways,"
My stomach got butterflies. "Thanks..."

"You're really beautiful, Alyssa." How did I not notice how close he had gotten to me? "I hope that's not weird seeing as were roomies and all but..."
"No, no. Not at all." What was I saying? I barely knew Tyler. He was weird, I didn't know where he's been. But I was moving towards him subconciously and I wanted to kiss him. He cupped my face in his strong tan hands.

And without thought of consequence or sanity when he leaned in and kissed me, I kissed back.

The next morning I had a note on my bed stand.
'Meet me at the bistro at 8. -Tyler'

Why was he wanting to go out for dinner? The question bothered me all day. Did he want me to move out? Or maybe he wanted to tell me he had a wonderful girlfriend back home.

The hours dragged as I tried to work on cases but finally it was almost 8. I threw on a nice dress and fixed my hair and headed into town.

"Thanks for coming," he smiled.
"Of course, what'd you want to meet up for?" That couldn't be done in the living room or over the phone.
"Well I wanted to talk about last night. What I said..."
Here it goes, 'Alyssa I think you should move out. It's awkward now I was drunk an didn't mean to kiss you.'
"I know I had been drinking and all but I guess that let me really say what has been on my mind. I think you are gorgeous Lyssa and I know we just met but I'd like to go out with you. Take you out, I know you just broke up with that guy but let me show you that not every guy is an asshole. Show you what you deserve."

God I was so nervous. This was not what I was expecting, what I was preparing for all day.

"So what do you say?"

What did I say? This was my roomate, I barely knew him. Things could go horribly wrong, I'll have to move again, things will be awkard. But what if they go right, what is Tyler and I really get a long and we fall in love and he's my prince charming. Or what if he's just a good guy who wants to take me out and treat me nice.

"Yes." I leaned in and pressed my lips against his.

~~
So! I know I moved houses, which is a total no-no but I needed out of that house it was annoying me and then I thought oh why not a roomate and all these beautiful events played out.
Though moving did take its toll, the amount of cases she had already done (say six) had been wiped. So I understand now why they didn't want them to move!
Hope you all enjoy!

The Case of the Broken Heart

Jake and I were inseparable since that night. He got his marriage to whatever-her-name annulled pretty quick and he asked me to be his girlfriend.

But eventually we both had to get back to work. I was spending a lot of time hacking other's computers.

Eventually with our busy work schedules Jake started to stay over, which I was fine with. I guess I was just always wishing for more...

Except I wish I didn't even know him when he woke me up early to throw around the foot ball.

But he was always sweet

And eventually...

He gave me what I wished for...

And it seemed as though we got even closer.

Life was great, I was getting promotion after promotion, building my logic skills and I had the boy I always wanted.

Jake was taking in a lot of overtime so I spent a few days at home cleaning up the mess that's been building up. Until I got a call that Jake needed some private investigator help.

I couldn't believe what my boss was telling me, that Jake Lane hadn't had a date in awhile and wanted help finding new love. It was impossible, a pure mistake! I rushed over to find and talk to him. He seemed so oblivious that I was hurt by his request to meet new girls.

And I tried to ignore it, and I attempted to ask someone if they would want to see Jake but just the thought aggravated me and made me sick.

I couldn't do this anymore.

After work Jake always hit the gym so I went there. My face was tear stained and I'm sure I didn't look too great. I found him on the second floor. Once he saw me he smiled and headed over.

"Lyssa, what's wrong?"
"What's wrong? What's wrong! You're wanting to see other people! And not even considering my feelings. I thought everything was fine between us! I can't believe you!"

"Alyssa calm down, let me explain."
"No, you have always been distant with me in little ways but I thought we had finally got past that. I won't be with a man who doesn't want me with his whole heart. We're over, Jake."

Jake couldn't form another sentence, he ran down the stairs and out of my sight. I took in a deep breath and stiffled a whimper. I couldn't cry right now, I needed to forget Jake and what better way with getting my endorphins up so I wouldn't be sad.

I can't believe I just broke up with him.

Wish Granted

The first thing I did this morning after a bowl of cereal was put on my fancy new coat and hat and start on Jake's case. I had to search a few mail boxes...

And then a couple of trash cans...

But finally I figured out the culprit and the case was done, I just needed to fill in Jake. But before I went to see him there was a chess tournament at the bookstore that I had been dying to go to. And it also gave me a lot of logic points to boot!

I called up Jake and found out he was at the art gallery, so I told him I'd be over in ten to fill him in on the case.

He was happy to learn everything was resolved and that I put a few viruses onto the persons computer.

"Thanks so much, Alyssa! You're so awesome," he pulled me into a tight hug. Maybe a little too tight for being "just friends". But he smelt nice and I liked him so I didn't complain and just held on.

He pulled me into a conversation about a case he was working on and that of course went into other subjects and he was flirting again. What game was he trying to play? It was hard for me to care since all I wished for was him.

Over the next few days I mostly worked on cases, figuring out who stole what, if a certain someones partner was cheating on them and so on.

But finally it was the weekend and I thought that I should invite Jake over for dinner.

"Thanks for dinner Alyssa, you're a pretty good cook."
"Got it all from my mom, she was a professional chef,"
"That had to be all your own skill. You're amazing Alyssa."
Didn't he know those words made my head spin and my heart drop into the pit of my stomach?

When he decided to leave, in the wee hours of the morning I decided to not try anything which I think made him want me more. I'm not sure, I seem to be creating feelings and seeing things that aren't actually happening. But I swore I thought he was trying to send me signals to kiss him.

It was while I was the police station I noticed Jake wasn't there. Maybe he had the day off, or maybe he had caught a cold.

Well those were my thoughts until I noticed his twin sister Jordan wasn't there either. What could be happening? So after a little eaves dropping I figured out that Jake wasn't sick or took the day off he had his wedding today. Jordan was also off to be his best man.

My stomach twisted and my thoughts were racing. Wasn't it just last night he was telling me how amazing I was? Why wouldn't he bring this up? I didn't even know he was engaged. I ran to the bathroom locked it behind me before I leaped to the toilet. Nothing came out, but the dry heaves were bad enough.

I cleaned my self up and raced out, I had to find him. He needed to know how I felt. But of course a client stopped me to talk about a case.

But finally I shook her off and I waved down a taxi. Out on a limb I told him to drive to the park that Jake and I had first hung out at.

With my luck, he was there. Like he knew I was coming. He stood up just in time to catch me as I ran into him, wrapping my arms around him.

"Jake I have to tell you something," my breath was short.
"What is it, Alyssa?"

"Here I am, begging--"
"Alyssa,"
"Just shut up. I need to say this before I loose the courage." Jake nodded in agreement. "Here it is. Your choice, is simple. Her or me. And I'm sure she's really great. But Jake, I think I love you. In a really big, pretend to like your taste in music, let you eat the last piece of cheesecake, hold a radio over my head ourside your window, unfortunate way that makes me hate you, love you. So pick me. Choose me. Love me."

"I think I love you too, Alyssa."

"I know you two just got married but--"
"I'll figure out something. I want to be with you."

~~
Little bit of some Grey's Anatomy, I absolutely love that scene and then it just popped in my head that I should use it a little bit. Hope you enjoyed, gotta update a lot before I can play again because major things have happened and I dont want to get too far ahead of myself.
