Now you may be wondering, what is this cute blue house and why are we looking at it?
Well it's where I live. Let's just say after the break up I got a little tired of seeing Jake walk in and out of his house and his stupid little face so I called up my parents and they came down and helped me move out.
There was a listing in the newspaper for a roomate for a two bedroom house with a backyard and garage and it was wonderfully far from Jake Lane and anything associated with him.
The one thing about living here was I now did not live alone. Not that it was entirely bad, didn't have to pay as much rent and I didn't have a crazy fear everytime I heard something go bump in the night because ten to one it was Tyler Demarco, the mixologist that was new to town.
A little rough around the edges but he kept to himself most of the time and never hogged the bathroom for too long.
Though I moved away it didn't mean that I never saw Jake, though we heavily avoided each other while at work.
It was late one night when I was wrapping up a case where I spotted Tyler in front of the movie theatre reading a book. I didn't have anything else to do so I waved him over.
"What is a pretty girl like you doing out so late at night?"
"Oh...you know. Burning buildings, causing havoc. But I could ask the same about you,"
"Well my pretty self was trying to catch the midnight viewing of The Catcher and the Rye but missed it due to lousy directions from a police officer. So I thought I'd sit out here and read it instead."
"I didn't think of you as the book type,"
"Oh, you know. Just like a good read every now and then," He grinned and it seemed to glamor me.
But then he proceeded to eat dirt to freak me out and the glamor wore off and I just thought he was weird.
The case I was working on now was for Jake, (of course.) Annoying but money is money and thankfully it was an easy solver.
I heard the door open as I was half asleep in my room. A glance to the clock beside me 3 AM glowed in red. He sure is getting in late.
I pushed back the covers unconcerned apparently with the fact that I was only wearing my undergarments.
"Did I wake you Alyssa?"
"Kinda, just getting in?" I yawned.
"Yeah, sorry. You sure don't wear much to bed."
My arms hurried to attempt to cover my flesh. "I wasn't thinking,"
"Don't be embarrassed. It's not like I've never looked at a female body." My arms dropped a little. "You look hot anyways,"
My stomach got butterflies. "Thanks..."
"You're really beautiful, Alyssa." How did I not notice how close he had gotten to me? "I hope that's not weird seeing as were roomies and all but..."
"No, no. Not at all." What was I saying? I barely knew Tyler. He was weird, I didn't know where he's been. But I was moving towards him subconciously and I wanted to kiss him. He cupped my face in his strong tan hands.
And without thought of consequence or sanity when he leaned in and kissed me, I kissed back.
'Meet me at the bistro at 8. -Tyler'
Why was he wanting to go out for dinner? The question bothered me all day. Did he want me to move out? Or maybe he wanted to tell me he had a wonderful girlfriend back home.
The hours dragged as I tried to work on cases but finally it was almost 8. I threw on a nice dress and fixed my hair and headed into town.
"Thanks for coming," he smiled.
"Of course, what'd you want to meet up for?" That couldn't be done in the living room or over the phone.
"Well I wanted to talk about last night. What I said..."
Here it goes, 'Alyssa I think you should move out. It's awkward now I was drunk an didn't mean to kiss you.'
"I know I had been drinking and all but I guess that let me really say what has been on my mind. I think you are gorgeous Lyssa and I know we just met but I'd like to go out with you. Take you out, I know you just broke up with that guy but let me show you that not every guy is an asshole. Show you what you deserve."
God I was so nervous. This was not what I was expecting, what I was preparing for all day.
"So what do you say?"
What did I say? This was my roomate, I barely knew him. Things could go horribly wrong, I'll have to move again, things will be awkard. But what if they go right, what is Tyler and I really get a long and we fall in love and he's my prince charming. Or what if he's just a good guy who wants to take me out and treat me nice.
"Yes." I leaned in and pressed my lips against his.

So! I know I moved houses, which is a total no-no but I needed out of that house it was annoying me and then I thought oh why not a roomate and all these beautiful events played out.
Though moving did take its toll, the amount of cases she had already done (say six) had been wiped. So I understand now why they didn't want them to move!
Hope you all enjoy!
